First Day

Today is Owen's first day of kindergarten (the cut-off here is December so he is a YOUNG kindergarten-er).

School starts at 8. We left the house at 8:03. Off to a good start.

On the way Owen was sing-songing to the tune of A Spoonful of Sugar, "It's time to go to school! You're taking me to school!" I was glad he was calming MY nerves.

He chose the biggest kids backpack out there. As long as he doesn't want to wear character clothes he can have all the character backpacks he wants.

Not pictured (when we left): Owen wanting to cry but holding it in. Me not being able to hold it in as I walked away carrying Sally and holding Drew's hand.

I'm seriously such a wus and keep looking at these pictures over and over.

Is it time to pick him up yet?

He was a happy kid when I picked him up. He's excited to go back tomorrow. His favorite part of the day was the park. I asked him if it seemed long and he said he kept dreaming of me. Awwww.

He looks so handsome!! Last year I was a nazi about NO character shirts for Pre-K...this year, for some reason I didn't care!! Go figure! Normally I hate stuff like that...backpack and lunchbox can be whatever character crap they want!! But this year, I decided not to fight that battle!! It will get easier!!

I cried just looking at the pictures!!! What did you do all day with just Sally and Drew? Will you be walking him every day? That will be some fun memories.

He's definitely takes the cake for being best dressed in his plaid shorts & little skate kicks' He could not get any cuter, I see a first date for Ella & Owen when they're sixteen (I didn't realize how close in age they are) Don't be scared, i'm not one of those psycho moms who sets up their 4 yr olds.......What a sad & happy day for you & Owen....Ella starts Monday, we'll see how I hold up!

I can't believe Owen's in School. Lilly and he are close, but she doesn't start until next year, which she's really bummed about.

What a big boy. I do not look forward to those days. I have a hard enough time putting Payten to bed at night, it is all I can do to not get her back up cause I miss her so much. I hope like Owen she will miss me too!

My baby boy Travis starts Wednesday. Wow! I think I am going to cry. On the paperwork I filled out at school it says...is there anything you want to tell the teacher about your son or daughter? I wrote ....only that he is amazing! :)
