Splitsville

This is how I feel.

Our ward split today.

The military gives us enough change for one lifetime.

No more is necessary!

2 Requests:

1. I need to keep my same calling (primary chorister)...
new Bishop do you happen to read my blog?

2. All you little Monterey 1st Warders need to KIT.

Salsa

She says a handful of words...the usual first ones like bah (for ball, bird, and balloon), mom, dad, night night, and no.

The thing she says most is, "what's that?" (or her own variation of that phrase).

She pretty much never repeats the name of the thing she's asking about.

But when I told her what the salsa was, she said it loud and clear.

I love that salsa is one of her first words.

Homemade Bread

Does it count if it's fry bread?

Cause I haven't made a decent loaf of real bread in my life.

But this stuff is good.

Gilroy Gardens

is a fun younger-kid oriented theme park filled w/pretty gardens

and a bunch of rides.
We chose the ferris wheel.

They chose anything that had to do with driving.

My Flat Iron

This is why I love my flat iron.

And yes, I know that flat irons have been around for years.
I've had one for years.

And yes, I know that people add waves and curls nowadays.
I'm not that talented and my hair would be huge.

And yes, I'm showing off my new camera.
I love how it conveniently hides my face.

And yes, your life is complete now that you've seen my toilet.

On a Sunday Afternoon

Is it normal that I want my 5-year-old son's legs?

I'd take the 3-year-old's, too.

My Kind of Project

Glue an upside-down bowl to a plate and you get:

A dessert stand!

I was looking on Etsy for cake stands and I loved these ones.

And then I realized her clever idea.

So I did a little search and apparently this is not a new idea.

But it was to me!

And it was to the guy at Pier 1 who thought I was pretty creative.
(he didn't have to know I'm a copy cat)

I donated this one to our RS service auction tonight so I'm still cake-stand-less and excited to make another one.

Or two.

Or three....some friends and I made these today (5/18). Love em!

بطة بطة أوزة

Pronounced butt-tah, butt-tah, wuzz-zah

That would be the Arabic version of duck, duck, goose that we play.

Mommas

Happy Mother's Day to

Our Moms,

You,

and

Me!

Justin gave me a good day...hope yours was too.

Owen brought this coupon home from Primary.
How did a light saber make it into this picture?

Not Happy

Trying to figure out how to get out of this mess she got herself into.

Chasing Good Weather

We drove to Big Sur (1 hr away) yesterday where it was supposed to be 10 degrees warmer.

It was.

And also miserably windy.

We like driving 2+ hours to spend 10 minutes at the beach.

We Like Swimming

We went to

an amazing pool yesterday

and I realized a few things:

A) It's so nice to get IN the water
(not just look at it like I do at the cold ocean).

B) It's time for swimming lessons.

C) It's also time for swim diapers.

A Police Man

At his field trip yesterday Owen informed me that's what he wants to be when he grows up...a police man.

It may have had something to do with the officer's baton that extended like a light saber.

This was supposed to be a picture of just Owen & Eli next to a motorcycle.

But apparently kindergarteners like having their picture taken.

I also learned that kindergarteners like to eat with their friends over their family.

Or is that just Owen?

The girls (and a few of the boys) in Owen's class LOVE Sally.

She used to return the love but lately she's an independent woman that just wants her space.

Car Dancer

I miss my mini van.

It's in the shop on account of I hit a parked car.

So our rental is a Pontiac G6.

Which is a tight fit as you can see.

But that car has some bass...well compared to the mini-van anyway.

And I discovered a Party R&B station that makes me dance.

Only thing is I can't dance.

But I don't care when just these guys are around.

They haven't realized their mama has no rhythm yet.

At least I think...

I saw Owen mouthing, "No!" to Drew when I asked if they like it when I dance.

What You Haven't Seen

You've seen us at the beach.

You've seen us wearing underwear...at the beach.

You've seen us riding bikes.

But you haven't seen us riding bikes in underwear on the beach...

...until now.
