Underwater

And a few out of the water:

6/16

Underwater pictures were thanks to a cheapo phone case from Amazon.
It's meant more for protection than for taking pictures
(the touch screen doesn't work underwater, had to use the timer).
But it was fun.

And yes, we are still loving the pool at Saddle Mountain Ranch.

The Summer of Not Knowing

6/1
 Timed laps at the track.
They've been doing this twice a week for a Faith in God requirement.

6/1
This was a glorious day at Spanish Bay.

 Bald and beautiful Sarah.
Seashell/seaweed necklaces on Sally and Tes.

 6/2
He helps himself to our bed in the middle of the night every night.
And we don't even care.

6/3
Summer = cups of noodles, chicken nuggets, and corn dogs.
And feeding the neighborhood all of the above.

Summer also equals shorter naps/more meltdowns.
6/3

6/4
He does everything with his food except eat it.

6/5
We most definitely celebrated National Donut Day.

6/6
A family bike ride while Justin ran.

He fell asleep on the ride (with one hand in his bag of nuggets).
Stayed asleep as we moved him from the bike to the truck, then the truck to his bed.

6/8
Another beach day, this time at Lover's Point.
(which we're hoping is clear from the huge sewage spill a few weeks ago)

6/8

6/9
Sarah and I took the kids to a new (to us) pool at Saddle Mountain Ranch.
The view was amazing and we had the place to ourselves most of the time.
Pools are a treat here.

6/10
Just cruising Rite Aid in a swim diaper and goggles.

We are in limbo.

Justin doesn't have a job and we have no idea what's next for us.

Trying to make something work here, but nothing yet.

In the meantime, I'm still working 20 hours a week and we're having as much free/cheap fun as we can when I'm not.

I'm happy that we live in a place where lots of that (free fun) is possible.

Last Day of School

5/29

Every morning, Drew gets halfway down the street before Auggie yells for him to come back for knuckles (followed by, "lalalalala" a la Big Hero 6).

Auggie and I went down for the last hour of school. Watched Owen and the other 5th graders play the faculty in softball. The 3rd and 4th graders also got to watch, so we got to see Drew and friends.

Owen got caught in a pickle that went back and forth probably 10 times before he finally got safely to second base.

Owen and his teacher, Mrs. Sanchez.

 Drew with Ms. McCarty.

Sally's class got to spend their last hour in the pixie path making fairy houses.

We just bought one yearbook for the kids to share. I sent it with Owen to be signed since he was the graduating 5th grader. So many kids wrote, "HAGS" in it, which apparently is the acronym for, "Have a great summer." And I'm an old lady for not knowing that. Anyway, Sally was sad she didn't get yearbook privileges, so she found a signable shirt.

Sally with Mrs. Sweeney.

Some years our teachers are better than others, but even the not so great ones are saints for doing what they do. I could never.

We love the kids' school and are crossing our fingers we're able to make it work to stay here one more year. And then one more. And maybe one or two more after that.
