They USED To Be Tortillas

Tortillas were on the Costco list.

And this is what Justin came home with.

Hahahahahahahahaha.

After those were returned, we had ourselves a nice little Saturday.
Well, the kids and I did.
Justin spent the entire day writing a paper.

Spruce Street Bridge
It's in a San Diego neighborhood so quiet Owen said,
"It's like the library, but outside."

After scooters, bikes, and a park we ended the day with Brent/Errin/Jones at the beach.

Preschool

Preschool is over!

In general, I stressed when it was my turn to host.

But usually the stress paid off.

My favorite was music day.

The kids were totally into this book:

I thought I'd just go over a song or 2 with them (and the corresponding art in the book).

But they were so into it we went through the entire thing.

And did some finger painting to the music.

Between frogs, dinosaurs, science, camping, pajamas, mothers, boats, the ocean, and more...

Drew and I made some happy memories.

Glad I did it and glad it's over!

Beach Weekend

One of the many caterpillar sightings during our boardwalk scooter ride.

He would land with his shovel in pitchfork position.

And she took over the backpack.

Thanks to a friend visiting from AZ, I was reminded about
Military Appreciation Day at the Oceanside Pier.

We got there in time for a couple rides and to watch this hover craft take off.

If I had remembered about it earlier, we could've toured it and done a bunch of other stuff.

Next year...

Let's Play Music

Pretty sure Owen's Heaven will not include recital performances.

Also Plentiful

Strawberries.

So much better than snails.

Whatever It Takes

Spelling words weren't such a bore that morning.

Snips and Snails

Snails are PLENTIFUL here.

Huge ones.

The kids like em.
My poppies and I do not.

Bag Lady

"Drew said it's weird but it's not weird."

(in reference to her baggy purple tights on top of blue striped leggings on top of white striped leggings)

Aside:
Friday night was the Father & Sons camp out.
The boys loved everything except for the Australian (who according to Justin's impersonation, sounds just like one of The Wiggles) who woke everyone up at 5:30am for a nature hike with some loud pot banging.

Sally was happy to be my dinner/frozen yogurt/Jazzercise/shopping buddy.

If Only We Had A Pet Tadpole

the reception was at Val Vista Lakes and that water was too tempting

favorite reception moment was Derek and Brent sneaking that annoying "Friday" song from
You Tube into the playlist

and that's a wrap

The Wedding

Their sealing was BEAUTIFUL.
Wish I could've recorded everything Candace's grandpa/their sealer said.
Highlight though was when Candace said "yes" a little too early...she was so excited.
By Jason's fist pump, you can tell he was, too.

The Pre Wedding Dinner

and us!

Loved my mom's home-made French bread, the salad with tons of stuff in it, the cupcakes.
Felt sad for Grandma M who isn't doing so well again.
Felt happy Mom decided to have it be a kid-free night.
Laughed a lot at our inappropriate dinner conversation (hey no kids remember).
Was happy for the little love birds.

Not A Fan

Pretty sure Sally did not appreciate Gwen's way of pushing her.

Tie Machine

I was a tie-making machine in the days leading up to Jason & Candace's wedding.
I love how they turned out.
Those are some handsome little cousins.
