The Welcoming Committee

Brent gets home from Afghanistan tonight!

Hope he's ready for this huge flash (rented it) to be going off in his face nonstop.

We're all just a little excited.

I know Errin & Jones are his main priority.

But these faces (plus Rachel and Cole) are here for the welcoming, too.

2-3 more hours to go!!!

Not Thinking Straight

Does Sally look any skinnier to you?

Cause I accidentally added Slim-Fast (instead of Nesquick) to her milk this morning.

More sleep please.

C is for Camping

Drew's preschool is a co-op one I do with 4 other girls.

This week is my turn to host.

Made it through "C is for Camping" day.

After "D is for Dinosaurs" I get a 4-week break.

Sally joins the class when it's at our house.

According to Sally

Huggies with Mickey and Pluto on the front are NOT okay.

But Huggies with Mickey and Minnie ARE.

Applying To My Daily Life

Fresh off of conference weekend I'm feeling motivated to do better.
So when I saw this egg-crusted pan in the sink this morning, I thought...

Whatever is good is of God.
Whatever is not good is not.

Egg pans are not good.
Therefore I must stay away.

Today Was Awesome

Drew started preschool.

Sally ran 0.7 miles to Owen's school wearing a helmet.

(These pictures were taken with my phone...which is not an Iphone)

Drew started preschool.

I planted marigolds.

Sally struck a pose.

Drew started preschool.

And I discovered my favorite tissue box ever.
Thank you Trader Joe's.

Botanic

Does anyone know where I can find a giant chalkboard easel?

The San Diego Botanic Garden is a fun & cute place.
But it's hot today!
And by hot I mean 80.
How can I be from AZ and call 80 hot?

Dinosaur Dining

Sometimes he just needs a dinosaur puppet to help him eat his cereal.

Cleaning Lady

Likes: polishing her pictures and wiping windows.

Dislikes: anything else cleaning related.

It might appear

that all we do is go to Legoland.

And that is pretty much true.

Big News

I feel the need to announce that she is officially diaper free.
(during waking hours)

Weekend with Jones

Friday night movie night.
I can see this becoming a tradition.

Saturday: Legoland.
Didn't realize it closes at 5 now!!!
Getting there at 4:30 didn't leave a lot of time.
So we did the same fairy tale themed boat ride 3 times in a row without getting off.

And when we did Jones thought we needed to be really quiet for some reason.
He's a cool kid.

WD40

We fed Owen WD40 as a little kid and he turned out just fine!

This is Justin's Grandpa's old Willys Jeep he's been working on for years.

It's always been in my parents backyard so hopefully now that it's here he can get it finished.

He has exactly 2 years from today til he's out of the Marine Corps.

The Beach

Last little adventure before family had to go back to AZ.
The beach was actually not crazy on Labor Day.
But I was for getting in the ocean.

2 Rights Make A Left

It's good being left-handed when you injure your right hand.

It's not good being left-handed when your classroom has no scissors for you.

Same goes for Target, Walmart, Staples, and Office Depot.

What the?

I'm going to start a "Lefties Are People Too" campaign since somehow Justin and I ended up with 2 of them (Drew is the other one) and we're tired of being discriminated against!

PS Cole...Thanks for saving Owen's life on the long board. Sorry you lost a new shirt in the process!

Protection

Errin & I had our lists ready for Dad to get to work when he got here last weekend.

Drew (and Owen) got shields as a bonus thanks to some leftover wood from my new cupboard shelf.

Thanks Dad!

Oh and thanks for hauling up Justin's old Jeep body.

He's been busy.

No Sleeping Allowed

She got what she wanted.

Jeans for Hats

Donate a pair of jeans for the homeless and get a hat!

Only problem is I just got rid of all our old jeans.

So we stopped by a garage sale and bought some for $1 each to get our free (kind of) hats.

Fun morning at Rachel and Cole's favorite Surfride.

TP for Midgets

If I were 2 feet tall and liked going on a walk to get my toilet paper (it's so far from the toilet if you can't tell), I'd be really happy with the placement of this TP holder.

This house has a few quirks but overall we're loving.

Mostly settled.

Survived picture hanging day.

Family visiting this weekend!
