Fresh off of conference weekend I'm feeling motivated to do better.

Today Was Awesome

Drew started preschool.

Sally ran 0.7 miles to Owen's school wearing a helmet.

Weekend with Jones

Friday night movie night.
I can see this becoming a tradition.

Saturday: Legoland.
Didn't realize it closes at 5 now!!!
Getting there at 4:30 didn't leave a lot of time.
So we did the same fairy tale themed boat ride 3 times in a row without getting off.

And when we did Jones thought we needed to be really quiet for some reason.
He's a cool kid.

WD40

We fed Owen WD40 as a little kid and he turned out just fine!

This is Justin's Grandpa's old Willys Jeep he's been working on for years.

It's always been in my parents backyard so hopefully now that it's here he can get it finished.

He has exactly 2 years from today til he's out of the Marine Corps.

The Beach

Last little adventure before family had to go back to AZ.
The beach was actually not crazy on Labor Day.
But I was for getting in the ocean.

2 Rights Make A Left

It's good being left-handed when you injure your right hand.

It's not good being left-handed when your classroom has no scissors for you.

Same goes for Target, Walmart, Staples, and Office Depot.

I'm going to start a "Lefties Are People Too" campaign since somehow Justin and I ended up with 2 of them (Drew is the other one) and we're tired of being discriminated against!

Protection

Errin & I had our lists ready for Dad to get to work when he got here last weekend.

Drew (and Owen) got shields as a bonus thanks to some leftover wood from my new cupboard shelf.

Thanks Dad!

Oh and thanks for hauling up Justin's old Jeep body.

Donate a pair of jeans for the homeless and get a hat!

Only problem is I just got rid of all our old jeans.

So we stopped by a garage sale and bought some for $1 each to get our free (kind of) hats.

If I were 2 feet tall and liked going on a walk to get my toilet paper (it's so far from the toilet if you can't tell), I'd be really happy with the placement of this TP holder.

This house has a few quirks but overall we're loving.

Mueslix on a Sunday Morning

Ever since my aunt Liesel served this at our family reunion I've been a little obsessed.

Start w/raw oats.

Add milk to soften and yogurt (I use vanilla) to sweeten.

Then pile stuff on:

Berries, nuts, craisins, bananas (not pictured but I like it best w/those included), coconut, etc.

And then have a happy belly.

Got here just in time to celebrate Errin's bday.

Ate at Ruby's at the end of the pier.

This is the closest we've gotten to the beach here and it was exciting.

I think today we might actually touch sand!

Not So Sure

Owen is officially a military brat.
Today was his first day of 1st Grade at his THIRD school in 2 years.

Sally came home with the reading glasses and Feliz Cumpleanos balloon
after a visit to the dollar store with Tanner and Rachel.

And now I'm kind of hoping she needs glasses one day
because her slightly magnified eyes make me happy.
