The Good Old Days

Usually, "Good Old Days" happens on General Conference weekend, so we rush down in-between sessions.
But this year, because of Easter, it got pushed back a week.
We walked down early for the parade and then walked down to the street fair after.
Same baseball game as last year with the same plastic bats as prizes (all but one popped before we got home).
Did a few rides, walked a lot, and then walked some more on home.
Love our small town festivities.

Later that day, Justin came home from Costco with a kite.
Our kite flew well at first, but by the time the boys and Laflans got down there, it was way too windy.
Before the crazy wind:

Dos and Deoderants

4/6
Axle and August.

Drew decided he needs to wear deoderant and convinced me to buy him some.
He does not stink whatsover, but hey if he wants to smell good I'm fine with that.
The next day he made all his friends smell his armpits.
And now Auggie is obsessed with the stuff and thinks he needs deoderant, too.

Our ward did raingutter regatta this year instead of pinewood derby.
I loved it because all boats were 100% done by the boys during scouts.

Drew didn't win one race that counted (and he was bummed),
but he did win the "Classiest Cutter" award.
Which may have had something to do with the fact that he had the most family voters there.
Or maybe not.
I still feel bad that I was impartial and didn't vote for his.

Cat set up this ice cream sundae bar in a raingutter that was super fun.

This kid joins me in the bathroom more often than not.
This particular day instead of following me out, he purposefully locked himself in.
And would not come out.
He went to town on my make-up and deoderant.
And then instead of unlocking the door, sat down on the sink and cried until Justin busted in.

Some happier moments:

Easter

Annual beach Easter egg hunt.
Nolan was the proud winner of the golden egg.
It was cold and windy and Owen lost his football to the ocean.

Easter Sunday

Started and ended the day with cascarones.
Those things are such a mess, but so fun.
Our neighbors gave them to us and now I need them every year.

General Conference was so good.
Justin had just found out he didn't get the FBI job,
so the words from our prophet and apostles were extra comforting.

We loved our dinner with the Hardys, Sons, and Ulibaris.
