Every year Pacific Grove schools get to participate in the Butterfly Parade.
The parade celebrates the return of the Monarch butterflies to the local sanctuary
where they spend a few months before migrating even more south to Mexico.
And the parade is cute.
Each grade is assigned a theme that celebrates the local heritage and culture.
The kindergarteners get the honor of being the butterflies.
(I was obviously very excited that Sally got to be a butterfly)
Drew and the other 2nd graders were artists.
Owen's class got to choose between miners, ranchers, or padres.
Owen is supposed to be a miner.
And he's wearing my shirt.
The adorable and clever costumes made the whole parade.
There were caterpillars, jellyfish, otters, clowns, gardeners, flowers, bees, pioneers, and more.
Love this small(ish) town.

Shauna....
you always have the best pictures!
That looks like so much fun.
Sally looks so old in that picture with her friend Tes. I do love parades. That is super cute.
And I love how Owen smiles for you and Drew is waving to the crowd.
I don't know where to begin about Sally's monarch costume. SO cute! I just might make a visit up north next year. This looks like so much fun! :)
