Bowling is Fun

Sometimes I have to kick Justin's bootie and then brag about it.

You can find us here

all summer long.

(The base has 3 different pools we get to choose from)

Kindergarten Year 2

Owen's kindergarten program was the cutest thing I ever did see.
He sang his little heart out to all the songs, including Baby Beluga.
I really liked his music teacher and you could tell all the kids loved him, too.
They didn't have music class in Monterey.
Love that they have it here.

With his teacher, Mrs. Gentry

His favorite school friend, Riley

Back at Bayview...here he's with his favorite school friend there, Brandon
His teacher, Mrs. Gnibus, is in the background.

He's excited for 1st Grade but I'm sad he's not a kindergarten-er anymore!
I think a 3rd year would be nice.

(He repeated last year cause he was so young...glad we decided to do that)

Published

Every Wednesday we get a mailer from the local newspaper.

I uploaded some pictures to the paper's site and 2 were printed in this week's edition!

It is now my goal to see how many more I can get published in this before we leave.

Bad Skeetos

Sally how do you feel about having 27 mosquito bites?

Imported Peaches

Military has changed on us ONCE again!

No more Georgia.

We'll be having those peaches imported to California.

Our next stop (in September) will now be Camp Pendleton in Oceanside.

This time it's for sure.
(as for sure as you can be with the military)

I'm excited cause Brent, Errin & Jones (my brother & his family) are stationed there, too.

First time in 7 years we'll be living in the same city as family!

Now just hopefully Justin won't deploy.

Getting Warmer

I think this little "garden sprite" is one step up from the duck
(in the making friends department).
It is a person, just not a living one.
Wait, it might be a tie.

Matching smiles.

A 9/11 Memorial (part of the World Trade Center).

Hopscotch on the Celebration Bridge.

Another day exploring San Angelo.

Seashells and Seahorses

So I'm thinking about this wallpaper for our next house...

Living with Wallpaper

When we first walked through this house I thought I was being attacked by wallpaper.

And popcorn ceilings.

But now I'm kind of getting used to it.

What's next? What if I start to like it???

Good thing we only have 4 more months here.

But if I talk about putting up wallpaper in my next house, stop me immediately.

Wide Open Spaces

There is just so much space here.
We had this entire park to ourselves.
But it kind of feels like that everywhere we go.

Know what else we have here (well nearby anyway)?
Some real live hermits.
And not the crab kind of hermits.

Baby Steps

Made friends with an animal.
Think we're ready to move on to people.

Seen in San Ang

It makes perfect sense that someone who makes donuts, pastries, and wedding cakes would also make burritos.

5 Years Later it Fits

This is what Owen looked like the day Justin got home from his first Iraq tour.
He was 1 yr and 8 mos old.

This is the shirt Justin brought him home from that tour.
The tag said 1-2Y.
Irish sizing is apparently much different than ours.

Munster is an Irish rugby team. Justin got this at the airport in Ireland, where he had a layover on his way home, cause there was no good shopping in Iraq.

My Happy Mother's Day

Previously...
I was wearing my mother's day hat while bribing Drew to be happy for a picture.
Owen was too fast stripping down to his under-shirt and soccer shorts after church.

Because you wanted to see more of me in the Mother's Day hat.

He did anything labor involved yesterday (including some GOOD cooking).
And I liked it.

PS Thank you Owen, Drew & Sally for the foot rubbing and hair brushing.

Happy Mother's Day!

Don't they look happy to be moms?

San Angelo Ain't that Bad

This place has cool parks.

And a LOT of state pride.
So many houses have huge iron stars decorating them.
After the pledge each morning at school, the kids say another pledge just about Texas.

Strangers are so friendly.

People are very pro-military.

And these sheep are randomly all over the place.
Wait, not sure if that's good or bad.
Drew was hiding from me.
Just had to clarify that the sheep did not poop him out (Justin).

And I like a city with a river.

Also need to clarify that I did not pop Drew's collar...his playing must've done that.

He Carried a Pool on his Back

This pool wouldn't fit in our van.
So instead of exchanging it for the blow-up kind (we're hoping this kind lasts a little longer), Justin carried it home from good ol Wal-Mart just like this.
After a mile someone let him hop in the back of their truck for the last 1/2 mile.
And you know I was waiting with my camera for his arrival.

It's hot here.
Thank goodness for ghetto little pools.

A Baby Tumbleweed

What?! A little baby tumbleweed in our backyard?

What?! We HAVE a backyard!

I was so excited when I saw this thing...thinking we must for sure be in Texas if we were getting tumbleweeds in our backyard. But then we discovered...
it was a nest.
