This would be me running across the highway.
Less than 1/2 hour after leaving Monterey we heard a thud hit the van.
Then the car next to me pointed to my roof box.
I pulled over to see that it was open and a box of pictures had fallen out.
By the time we got back to it, it had been run over.
200+ pictures were scattered on both sides of the highway.
The same pictures I didn't let the movers pack cause I wanted to keep them safe.
Apparently that plan backfired.

OMG! BUM.MER!!!!! Believe it or not, I've had this happen! Was Justin with you to take this or was your mommy? HOly cow. That's so sad and makes you all panicky in the moment, doesn't it!?! Did you save everything you could see? I hope the wind wasn't bad that day! Hang in there! This craziess too, shall pass!!!!
Wow, I am seriously choked up; so so sorry, how horrible.
Yes, my mom was with me and took the picture. This was after most were picked up. We saved probably 99% of them. Soooo not funny at the time but I can laugh about it now. And don't worry, the picture of Donny Osmond and me is saved :)
so sorry about the pictures, that sucks, but hopefully you still have most of them on the 'puter right? Good luck with the rest of the move.
I'm SO sad for you! What an awful way to leave Monterey! I hope you have most of them on the computer! I hope the rest of your trip goes better.

i am so sad you are moving, you know i have loved vicariously living in Monterey through your blog. i seriously have been looking for jobs for my husband to transfer to in the area. All because of your blog posts! You should get a check from the tourism department for all the great advertising!

Looks like you need an external hard drive for all your fabulous pictures. I think I would cry.
