My Kind of Project

Glue an upside-down bowl to a plate and you get:

A dessert stand!

I was looking on Etsy for cake stands and I loved these ones.

And then I realized her clever idea.

So I did a little search and apparently this is not a new idea.

But it was to me!

And it was to the guy at Pier 1 who thought I was pretty creative.
(he didn't have to know I'm a copy cat)

I donated this one to our RS service auction tonight so I'm still cake-stand-less and excited to make another one.

Or two.

Or three....some friends and I made these today (5/18). Love em!

That is really cute! And if you want to do it on the cheap, sometimes the $1 store has glazed ceramic pieces- not a lot that match, but you could maybe fnd a plate and bowl... I'm all about the copy cat crafts.

I'm inspired (and impressed). I might just attempt one of those . . . maybe. I'm thinking a really tacky pink with lots of disney princesses all over it would be a big hit around here.
